I started taking violin lessons at the age of 7. After years of training, I am currently continuing my violin studies at Utrecht Conservatory. I have also attended music theory classes for 6 years because it is very useful to have some knowledge of it when playing any instrument. Dear violin lovers! I'm a violin teacher for 10 years now, I have been teaching in Portugal and the Netherlands. My lessons can be given in English, Portuguese, French or Spanish. Playing the violin is my passion, especially when I can pass on my knowledge and love for music to my students of all ages and levels. I did my Bachelor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with the teachers Maria Milstein and Eliot Lawson and completed my Masters in Performance degree with excellency as well in Amsterdam under the guidance of Liviu Prunaru and Mathieu van Bellen while studying baroque violin with Shunske Sato. I am Carlos (08/02/1992), professional violinist and violin and viola teacher. I started playing the violin when I was 15 years old. This means I can still clearly remember the methods and techniques I used to learn how to play the violin. I will certainly take these experiences with me into my teaching position. These insights allow me to teach each student according to his/her desires and needs. My passion for teaching started when my father and nephew wanted to learn to play the violin. Since then I have continued to teach many students because I get energy and inspiration from my students. In recent years I have taught many different students and because of this I have gained a lot of experience in using different methodologies. Teaching is a big responsibility. My priority is to let the student have fun while learning and to stimulate musicality/creativity. Every student is different and has different interests, therefore every student will be taught in a different way and with a different method. The styles I teach can vary from classical to jazz, pop, etc. I have taught students of different levels both in Spain and in the Netherlands: beginners, amateurs, advanced. So I teach students who are preparing for the conservatory, but also the very first beginners. Because I am from Spain, I can teach in Spanish, English and Dutch.

Let’s begin your musical journey! Perhaps this is the first time you are playing an instrument? Or you are picking it up having played it years ago. Perhaps you have a dream of where or what you would like to play...or want to improve specific skills to simply enjoy playing more. My aim is to create a path with you (or your child), to discover and develop ways to achieve your own musical goals. I offer 30-minute instrumental lessons – these are aimed at beginner students to build stamina, posture and basic playing techniques. You can combine this with an additional 30 minutes of musicianship, this is for children to build a solid foundation of musical skills –including rhythm, note reading and pitch, composition, tempo and more. Group lessons are possible for beginner players, these can be a fun and motivating way of learning together for students, however these would be regularly reviewed to ensure learning needs of each student are met. I would recommend 60-minute lessons for intermediate student/adult students – this is to work on more complex musical skills, exercises and pieces. Goals for lessons: Making music from day 1 Exploring and refining the craft of playing the instrument Setting reachable goals to build stamina, technique and musicianship Developing ‘inner ear’ with aural exercises Learning musical notation/composition Casual performance opportunities solo or in a group (if desired) Most importantly...having fun! About the lesson: Specialized in jazz classes at least at all levels – with absolute beginners at the top of the speakers. From 10 days to 10 days, you will be able to listen to your music via private channel without listening to music. Since March 2024 I teach at De Leerorkest in Amsterdam and De Gooische Muziekschool. My lessons are based on fun, patience and attentive listening. I tailor each lesson to the student’s personal goals and interests – whether that’s classical music, folk music or improvisation. If you listen to some of the music you have inspired, you will be able to put the structure into effect.
