General English: I design the English course based on your personal needs, interests, and motivations. Based on your profile and existing level of English, the course would focus on a specific combination of grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
English for academic purposes: This course would cover the key aspects of English needed in higher education and academic contexts. In addition to grammar and vocabulary, the course trains the key receptive and productive skills needed in higher education. Receptive skills involve reading and listening to academic texts. Productive skills involve writing and speaking for academic purposes (e.g., research papers, research proposals, essays, presentations, and others).

This course provides support with academic writing and presenting. It could take two different formats.
Option 1: general guidance in academic writing and presenting. This could be helpful if you have recently entered or are about to enter a higher education degree. In this case, I would provide the material, such as example essays/presentations that we can work with. In addition, I would provide you with resources that would support you throughout your academic journey.
Option 2: editorial support for your current academic work. This option could be helpful if you need support with your existing academic work. In this case, you, as a student, would provide the material, such as an in-progress research paper or presentation.
In both cases, depending on your needs or interests, the course would focus on covering the key aspects of academic writing and presenting. I consider these aspects to include rhetorical patterns or strategies, syntax, formatting, and style. In this way, my support and advice are limited to effective communication of your work and do not concern its content.
