Hello to everyone! My name is María, I am a Venezuelan Cellist. All my musical education was inside the musical program "El Sistema" in Venezuela. This education was based on preparing myself as a better human being though playing cello in orchestras, chamber music and as soloist. I am current studying my Master degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. In what consist my lessons? Cello classes for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced), it does not matter if you have never played cello before or if you are already studying, the important thing is to help you achieve the goals you want with this beautiful instrument. To have better results with practice, if it is necessary to help you with music theory, I will help you. As well, if you're looking for help in orchestral excerpts for auditions, I'm here for you! For kids, parental support is also important during some lesson, we are all a team and we need to work together to achieve the goals! Lessons in piano or harpsichord, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history. In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony. Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes. English, Nederlands, française, Deutsch. I have been teaching for about 20 years, privately, in Brussels, and in New York in the past, more than 100 students. I am a graduate of Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, in baroque cello and harpsichord, but I play also modern cello, organ, and piano.

Despite my young age, since 2012, after winning many auditions, I have played in orchestral projects in 18 European countries. I regularly participated in music courses and workshops.
