AI and Machine Learning for Young Students: Understand How It Works and its coceptsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

AI and Machine Learning for Young Students: Understand How It Works and its coceptsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Artificial intelligence is becoming part of everyday life, but many students use it without understanding what happens behind the screen. This beginner-friendly class helps young students build a clear and meaningful foundation in artificial intelligence and machine learning. As a student, you will learn how to think about AI: where its main ideas come from, how a machine learns from examples, why a model can make predictions, and why it can sometimes make mistakes. Instead of simply learning how to use AI applications, you will begin to understand the reasoning, mathematics and processes that make them work. Using simple explanations, visual examples and interactive exercises, we will explore data, patterns, algorithms, model training, classification, neural networks and real-world AI applications. We will also discuss the limitations of AI and how to evaluate its answers critically. No previous knowledge of AI, programming or advanced mathematics is required. Each lesson will be adapted to the student’s age, current knowledge and interests. I am a Master’s student in Artificial Intelligence at Johannes Kepler University Linz and also have a background in mechatronics. My goal is to make difficult ideas understandable and give students the foundation they need for future studies in mathematics, programming, robotics and artificial intelligence.

Artem Forum | Concept Art, Illustration & Portfolio MentorshipTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Artem Forum | Concept Art, Illustration & Portfolio MentorshipTranslate this text using Google Translate.

The program is designed for students interested in concept art, illustration, visual storytelling, and portfolio preparation for art schools, animation/game-related programs, or independent artistic development. It follows a mentorship-based approach, combining artistic foundations, conceptual thinking, and portfolio strategy, adapted to everyone's style, vision and long-term goals. What's in it? PART I 1. Artistic & visual language • Traditional drawing & illustration techniques • Shape & form study • Light, color & values • Composition & visual storytelling 2. World-building & visual thinking • Environment design (natural & built spaces) • Props, objects, and visual detail • Character concepts (anatomy basics, silhouettes, expression) • Style exploration (realistic, stylized, symbolic, experimental) • References vs originality: how to build from research without imitation 3. Cognitive & creative process • Artistic thinking & workflow • From idea to image • Documentation & reference gathering • Moodboards & visual research • Iteration, selection, refinement • Knowing when a piece is finished 4. Digital foundations (optional / hybrid) • Transition from traditional to digital • 2D digital tools & workflows • Layer logic, brushes, textures • Digital painting fundamentals • Presentation-ready images • Case studies from professional concept artists & illustrators This section is optional and may be skipped for students with prior digital experience. In such cases, the focus will be on refining and strengthening what has already been acquired. IMPORTANT! All sections in Part I (artistic practice, visual language, world-building, technical and digital foundations) are approached according to the student’s existing level, from beginner to advanced. If foundational skills are already present, these areas will not be repeated mechanically; instead, the focus will shift toward portfolio development, conceptual depth, and refinement of existing work. PART II Portfolio development & mentorship 1. Portfolio building • Defining the student’s artistic direction • Selecting and developing strong themes • Creating cohesive series, not isolated images • Aligning personal style with academic or professional expectations • Consistent review, feedback, and refinement 2. Application-specific support (where applicable) • Portfolio selection & sequencing • Artist statements or motivation letters (with visuals) • Adapting work to specific institutions or programs • Understanding evaluation criteria

Volodymyr worked with my son for 2 months after he failed an oberstufe year 7 schularbeit, and by the next exam he got a 3 (only 2 points from a 2!). Volodymyr has continued to work with him over the summer, and my son feels so much more prepared for year 8 and the matura. My son enjoys working with Volodymyr--he is kind, positive, and supportive. He is comfortable teaching matura-level math, and does so with great clarity. My son is a native English speaker, so they mostly use English, but the first lessons they did in German, and Volodymyr works easily in either language. I highly recommend Volodymyr!
