I'm a native English-speaking maths tutor with a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Finance, working with international school and GCSE/IGCSE students in Lisbon. I help students build confidence and improve their results across IGCSE (Edexcel), IB, and American Common Core curricula. Recent results include a student who passed her GCSEs with the grade she needed for university, and a student who went from at risk of failing to a B in his final assessment, whose teacher noted a real change in both his understanding and his attitude toward the subject. Having also coached and taught under-18s in sport (swimming and rugby), I've developed a patient, structured and encouraging style. I particularly enjoy working with students who feel stuck or have lost confidence in maths. Through these tools I guide and help my students to create a practice that best serves their own particular needs, whether that be to find more physical balance, mental clarity or emotional healing. I come from a scientific background, specifically Physics and Mathematics, and Yoga came into my life out of this need to self regulate and further understand the Universe and my place in it. I feel that these two areas complement each other very well. I try to by precise and methodical, allowing the subjectivity of each one's experience to come to the surface, welcoming it and using it to explore our own reality. Everyone is unique, with a certain life path, a specific set of desires, needs and difficulties and my goal is to help you by meeting you where you are and guiding you to where you want to go, giving you the tools to know yourself better and build a practice that works for you. Yoga is a very broad tradition and there are multiple ways to achieve the Yoga state. By working together we can find out what works best for you and in a particular phase of your life and expand on that. Yoga has certainly given me the foundation to relax when I feel overwhelmed, to know my body and mind and thus walk towards healing them of past traumas, and find spiritual connection and light when the world feels a little bit darker. I have just finish my Bachelors of Science course in Music & Sound Technology in Portsmouth, England. Before that I focused on engineering with maths and physics at Long Road sixth form in Cambridge and at the University of East London. I am also a rapper and a singer. Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages. I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
