Would you like to learn German systematically from the beginning or take your existing German skills to the next level?
My one-to-one German lessons are designed around clear learning goals and a structured programme tailored to your individual needs. I have been teaching German as a foreign language for over 25 years and work with adult learners at all levels, from A1 to C2.
Individual lessons rather than a standard programme:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the beginning of the course, I assess your current level of German and discuss your personal and professional goals with you. Based on this, we plan your course and identify the language skills that are most important for you.
Depending on your level and objectives, you will learn to:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- speak German confidently and with increasing fluency,
- communicate effectively in everyday and professional situations,
- systematically expand your vocabulary,
- use grammar accurately and appropriately,
- understand authentic conversations and more complex texts,
- write professional emails and other texts clearly and precisely,
- participate actively in meetings and professional discussions from B1 level onwards, and
- express complex ideas clearly, precisely and confidently at more advanced levels.
At B2, C1 and C2 in particular, learning German is no longer simply about speaking “correctly”. We work on helping you express yourself precisely, confidently and appropriately in different situations, including when discussing complex professional topics.
Structured learning with measurable progress:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
To ensure that you develop your German systematically, I work with up-to-date course materials, supplemented by my own teaching materials and interactive exercises. We can also incorporate professional topics and specific communication situations from your own working environment into your lessons.
If you would like to continue learning between lessons, I can provide suitable exercises and homework. Corrections are included in your course.
I regularly assess and document your progress. If you wish, you can complete each language level with a final assessment and receive a certificate.
Lessons that fit around your professional schedule:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most lessons take place online. Alternatively, one-to-one lessons are available at my office in Munich.
You can choose regular weekly appointments or arrange your lessons flexibly – particularly useful if your work schedule, shifts or business travel make it difficult to commit to the same time every week.
Each lesson lasts 60 minutes. For steady and sustainable progress, I recommend one or two lessons per week.

Are you preparing for a telc German exam or Goethe Certificate and want to focus specifically on what you need to succeed in the exam?
My individual exam preparation is designed to help you prepare systematically for the different sections and task types of your exam. We focus particularly on the areas where you need to gain confidence or improve your performance.
I have more than 25 years of experience teaching German as a foreign language and extensive experience preparing students for telc and Goethe exams. I am also a certified telc examiner for oral exams from A1 to C2 and an accredited assessor for written exams from B1 to C2.
This means that I am familiar not only with the exam formats but also with the requirements and assessment criteria used in practice. I use this experience to help you prepare effectively, particularly for the speaking and writing sections.
Targeted exam preparation rather than general German lessons
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Effective exam preparation is not simply about completing as many practice tests as possible. The first step is to identify which parts of the exam you are already confident with and where you need targeted support.
Depending on your exam, level, strengths and areas for improvement, we can work on:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Writing: As a telc assessor for written exams from B1 to C2, I am familiar with the assessment criteria used in practice. We work on understanding the task correctly, structuring your text effectively, using appropriate phrases and meeting the language requirements for your level. You receive detailed feedback on your writing and learn where you may be losing marks and how to improve.
- Speaking: Practising typical exam tasks, responding spontaneously, expressing and supporting your opinions, giving short presentations and interacting confidently with an exam partner.
- Reading and listening: Developing effective strategies for different types of exam tasks.
Vocabulary and grammar: Working specifically on language weaknesses that may affect your exam performance.
- Time management: Learning how to complete the different tasks effectively within the time available.
- Exam strategies: Understanding task instructions and assessment criteria and avoiding common mistakes.
- Mock exams: Practising individual sections of the exam under realistic conditions.
You will receive particularly detailed feedback on speaking and writing. Together, we analyse what you are already doing well and identify the areas you need to improve in order to meet the requirements of your exam level more confidently.
Have you taken the exam before but not passed?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not passing an exam does not necessarily mean that your overall German level is too low. Difficulties are often limited to individual sections of the exam, certain task types, exam strategies or time management.
In this case, we analyse what may have affected your performance in your previous attempt and focus your training on the areas where you need to improve.
If you have a detailed score report or breakdown of your previous exam results, please bring it to your first lesson. This can help us identify your priorities more precisely.
When should you start preparing?
------------------------------------------------------
Ideally, you should begin targeted preparation around three months before your exam. This gives us enough time to identify areas for improvement, develop effective strategies and practise the relevant sections thoroughly.
Short-term preparation is also possible. If your exam is only three to four weeks away, I generally recommend two to three lessons per week.
Each lesson lasts 60 minutes. I recommend a minimum of five lessons; ten lessons are advisable for more comprehensive preparation.

Have you already learned some German and understand quite a lot, but still struggle to find the right words when speaking? Or do you already speak German well but want to communicate more spontaneously, precisely and confidently?
This is exactly where my individual communication training comes in.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Traditional language courses cover a wide range of skills: grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing. In group courses in particular, however, there is often not enough time for intensive speaking practice. In one-to-one lessons, the entire session is focused on you – giving you maximum opportunity to speak, practise and improve your communication skills.
I have been teaching German as a foreign language for over 25 years and work with adults at all levels, from A1 to C2. My students include international professionals, executives and doctors who want to communicate confidently and professionally in German, both in everyday life and at work.
You do the talking – and we focus on improving your communication
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The content of your lessons is tailored to your current level, your individual goals and the situations in which you actually need to use German.
Depending on your level and objectives, you can work on:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- starting and maintaining conversations spontaneously,
- speaking more fluently and responding more quickly,
- making small talk and building professional and social connections,
- understanding people more easily when they speak quickly,
- communicating confidently with colleagues, managers and clients,
- explaining facts and complex issues clearly and precisely,
- expressing and supporting your opinions,
- making a convincing argument,
- participating actively in meetings and discussions,
- giving presentations and responding confidently to questions.
We work with realistic communication scenarios from your everyday and professional life. You are also welcome to bring specific situations, topics or upcoming conversations from your own working environment into your lessons.
From “I know what I want to say” to “I can actually say it”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At more advanced levels in particular, the challenge is often no longer a lack of basic German skills. You understand the people around you and know what you want to say – but perhaps you cannot find the right expression quickly enough, need too much time to respond or find it difficult to express a complex idea as precisely as you would like.
This is where we work specifically on the vocabulary, useful expressions, sentence structures and natural phrasing you need for your personal and professional communication. I provide targeted corrections and show you how to express yourself more naturally, precisely and appropriately in different situations.
Step by step, you develop greater fluency, confidence and ease when communicating in German.
Individual training backed by over 25 years of teaching experience
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the beginning of your course, I assess your current German skills and we discuss the situations in which you would like to communicate more effectively. Based on this, we define the priorities for your individual communication training.
Where useful, speaking practice can be complemented by targeted exercises in listening comprehension, vocabulary or grammar. If you would like to continue working between lessons, I can also provide suitable exercises and homework. Corrections are included.

Are you planning to work as a doctor in Germany, preparing for a medical language exam, or already working in Germany and looking to communicate more confidently and effectively in your professional environment?
My individual German training is designed for international doctors who want to develop or improve both their medical German and their general language skills.
Preparing for a medical language exam may be an important goal – but it does not have to be the end of your language training. Many doctors continue their lessons afterwards to further improve their German and communicate confidently, precisely and appropriately with patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
I have been teaching German as a foreign language for over 25 years and support international doctors at different stages of their careers – from developing the language skills they need to work in Germany to achieving an advanced level of German at C1 or C2.
Medical German and communication in everyday clinical practice
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doctors face a wide range of communication challenges. When speaking to patients, complex medical information needs to be explained in clear, accessible language. Communication with medical colleagues, on the other hand, requires precise terminology and a professional style. In addition, doctors need to communicate effectively during ward rounds, handovers, case discussions and conversations with relatives, as well as in written documentation.
Depending on your current level, medical specialty and professional goals, we can work on areas such as:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- communicating confidently and empathetically with patients,
- conducting structured medical history interviews,
- explaining examinations, diagnoses and treatments in clear language,
- conducting informed-consent and counselling conversations,
- using medical terminology accurately and confidently,
- switching effectively between medical terminology and patient-friendly language,
- presenting patient cases in a clear and structured way,
- participating in handovers and case discussions,
- communicating professionally with colleagues and other healthcare professionals,
- taking part in ward rounds and speaking with patients’ relatives,
- writing medical documentation and other professional texts.
We work with realistic situations from everyday medical practice. You are also welcome to bring specific communication challenges from your own work into your lessons.
Preparation for the medical language exam
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are preparing for a medical language exam in Germany, we focus specifically on the language requirements and typical communication tasks you will encounter in the exam.
This includes, in particular, the doctor-patient consultation, written medical documentation and the doctor-to-doctor discussion or structured presentation of a patient case.
We simulate typical exam situations and work specifically on medical vocabulary, useful expressions, linguistic accuracy, clarity and your ability to respond spontaneously.
Passing the medical language exam, however, does not automatically mean that you will feel completely confident communicating in everyday clinical practice. You can therefore continue your training after the exam and systematically develop both your professional and general German skills.
General and professional German up to C2
--------------------------------------------------------------------
For doctors who are already working in Germany, medical terminology alone is often not enough.
In your everyday professional life, you need to respond spontaneously, express and support your opinions, explain complex issues and take part in conversations that have nothing to do with medicine. The greater your professional responsibility, the more important precise and appropriate communication becomes.
For this reason, we can work on your general German alongside your medical German or continue developing it systematically towards C1 or C2 after your exam.
Depending on your needs, we can focus on:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
- developing a broader and more nuanced vocabulary,
- using more complex grammatical structures confidently,
- speaking more fluently and spontaneously,
- expressing yourself clearly and precisely,
- developing advanced listening and reading skills,
- communicating professionally and confidently at work.
The aim is not simply to master medical terminology, but to enable you to communicate confidently and effectively in German beyond standard medical situations.
Individual training backed by over 25 years of teaching experience

You receive targeted corrections and detailed feedback on how you express yourself. If you would like to continue working between lessons, I can also provide additional exercises and homework. Corrections are included.
