I'm looking for student's who not only want to learn a great technique for singing but whom also want to find and develop their own unique sound so they can express themselves through the art of song and tell a story. I am a trained singer- songwriter & professional musician with a BA (hons) in Composition. Originally from london I moved to Brussels to do my masters degree. I am a trained singing with a level of grade 8, I have also spent the last 6 years touring as a front women and also a backing singing with various artists around europe, including 1 top 10 artist. I understand that although it's great to have a strong technique it's also about letting go and having confidence in your ability so you can relax in the moment. I welcome students of all levels and all ages and teach a range of genres from Jazz to Rock. Alternatively I am happy to focus on technique if that is something you prefer to work on. I studied Language Sciences and Literature in Paris, where I also did tutoring sessions for students in difficulty. I also studied Game Design and Narrative Design. Being a musician, I write song lyrics for several projects. I have been writing poetry and freelance writing for over 10 years. I am also a content creator for a French-speaking Belgian webzine; Shoot Me Again. My background in literature and linguistics helped me to have a sensitivity to language. I bring a lot of importance to the weight of the words and to the rhythm in my writings. My diverse experience has helped me build a solid background. I can teach poetry, how to write song lyrics, spontaneous writing for the Spoken Word for example but also how to structure an article, a dissertation or any other writing. These courses are intended for singers of levels, beginners to intermediates who wish to improve their vocal skills, as well as for people wishing to better control their voice and gain confidence in situations such as public speaking. The course is generally carried out in two parts: A first part devoted to vocal development and technique centered on three essential points: The agility, placement and connection of vocal registers. After a complete warm-up based on bodily and vocal exercises, I offer you technical exercises adapted to your needs and your level. My role is to give you the keys and directions to achieve your goals as quickly and with maximum pleasure. This part of the work is essential and should in no way constitute an obstacle to learning, which is why I listen to your desires and feelings to best adapt the technical work and make it a real daily ritual. A second part completely focused on interpretation. Let's not forget, the goal of this class is to sing! And the best key to progress and to sing what you like. If you play an instrument, I have guitars and pianos so that you can accompany yourself, otherwise, I would be happy to accompany you on the piano to sing the songs of your choice. We try to work on different songs to make learning as fun as possible! I can also help you write and perform your own songs if you are composing!
