Some students believe that they are not mathematically gifted; therefore incapable of learning mathematics. I believe the contrary, that all students with motivation sustained by the teacher and confidence in their mathematical skills are essential to the student’s success in the classroom. I include reflection in my daily practices to encourage students to be reflective, while developing their ability to learn and innovate. In my opinion, reflection is fundamental for students to be able to manage complex thinking processes and outcomes adequately. Reflective practices aid learners to expand their understanding of concepts by creating new connections and relating different ideas; and can guide them to understand themselves as learners by maximizing their strengths and minimizing their weaknesses. To support my students to become independent and reflective learners, I consider two complementary types of reflection: Reflecting on what is being accomplished to support deeper understanding of the concepts; and making learning itself an object of reflection to support student self-regulation and independent learning. I refer to the Socratic Method, Bloom’s Taxonomy of Critical Thought and Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences when I am creating my daily lesson plans to assure that I teach to a variety of learning styles. By teaching to these learning styles and presenting the concept in the ways stated above, I create an atmosphere where success for the student is probable. I consider success to be more likely because not only am I presenting information multiple ways, but I am also encouraging students who understand the material to help others who do not; therefore giving the students a view of the material from their peers. Creating this success is the first step in motivation. I believe that once the students understand that math is a subject that they can understand, their confidence and motivation will increase therefore making them more apt to put forth more effort in the math classroom.

Mathematics, statistics, and data analysis become much easier when formulas, reasoning, computation, and real-world interpretation are connected clearly. I am a PhD-qualified engineer, university professor, researcher, and multidisciplinary tutor with more than 30 years of experience in teaching, quantitative methods, mathematical problem solving, statistical analysis, research, engineering, data analysis, and professional decision support. This class provides a structured and personalized learning pathway for school and university students, graduate researchers, engineers, professionals, and adult learners. Depending on your goals, we can focus on one specific area or connect several areas into a coherent program. MATHEMATICS • Arithmetic, fractions, ratios, percentages, and mathematical foundations • Algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, and systems • Functions, graphs, and transformations • Geometry and analytic geometry • Trigonometry • Precalculus • Limits and continuity • Differential calculus and applications • Integral calculus and applications • Sequences and series • Multivariable calculus • Linear algebra, matrices, vectors, and systems • Differential equations • Numerical methods • Applied and engineering mathematics STATISTICS, PROBABILITY & ECONOMETRICS • Descriptive statistics • Probability rules and probabilistic reasoning • Conditional probability, independence, Bayes’ theorem, and counting methods • Expected value, variance, covariance, and properties of common probability distributions • Random variables and probability distributions • Sampling and sampling distributions • Confidence intervals • Hypothesis testing • Correlation and regression • Multiple regression • ANOVA, ANCOVA, and MANOVA • Nonparametric methods • Multivariate statistical analysis • Econometrics and quantitative methods • Time-series analysis and forecasting • Mediation and moderation analysis • Statistical modelling and predictive analysis • Econometrics • Multiple regression • Time series • Forecasting • Mediation/moderation • Predictive analysis DATA ANALYSIS & VISUALIZATION • Data organization and quality assessment • Data cleaning and preparation • Data transformation, filtering, grouping, merging, and reshaping • Relationships between variables and graphical/statistical diagnostics • Missing values, duplicates, inconsistencies, and outliers • Exploratory data analysis • Summary tables and analytical reporting • PivotTables and aggregation • Data visualization and appropriate chart selection • Trend and pattern analysis • KPI development and performance analysis • Dashboard concepts and decision-support reporting • Research and survey data preparation • Interpretation and communication of analytical findings Depending on your needs, practical work may involve Excel, SPSS, Stata, R, SAS, Power BI, SQL, Python, or other relevant analytical tools. Software is never treated as a substitute for understanding: I explain the reasoning behind the method, the assumptions involved, the meaning of the output, and how to verify whether the conclusion is sound. My teaching approach follows a clear progression: understand the problem → identify the appropriate concept or method → develop the reasoning → calculate or analyze → verify the result → interpret it → communicate the conclusion We can work with your course syllabus, textbook, representative exercises, exam topics, dataset, statistical output, research question, spreadsheet, dashboard, engineering application, or professional analytical problem. Whether you are rebuilding mathematical foundations, preparing for an examination, studying advanced calculus, learning statistics, conducting econometric analysis, interpreting research data, or developing practical analytical skills, I will adapt the sessions to your level, objectives, and pace. My goal is not merely to help you obtain an answer, but to help you understand the reasoning, choose appropriate methods, verify results, interpret findings correctly, and solve new problems independently.

Baia was instrumental in helping my daughter prepare for the OMPT-F exam. From the very first lesson, she was organized, knowledgeable, and focused on the areas that mattered most for success on the test. What sets Baia apart is her ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in a simple, structured way while building confidence at the same time. Her engineering background gives her a deep understanding of mathematics and allows her to explain not only how to solve problems, but also why the concepts work. She provided targeted practice materials, mock exams, and clear guidance on the key topics that carried the highest impact. Baia was always responsive to questions between lessons and consistently went above and beyond to ensure my daughter was fully prepared. Thanks to her support, my daughter developed a much stronger understanding of mathematics and a more positive attitude toward the subject. She now approaches challenging problems with far more confidence than before. I highly recommend Baia to anyone preparing for the OMPT exams, university mathematics, or looking for a patient, knowledgeable, and highly effective math tutor.

Roland is a very good tutor. Lessons planned well and organized effectively, tailored to your needs. Responds to emails quickly and in a helpful manner. Good at explaining phenomena and showing you the most effective solution strategies. Overall I am very pleased with Roland as a tutor, and can recommend him to anyone preparing for the TU Delft Aerospace Engineering Bsc selection exam.

Out 20+ teachers I sent requests to, Faten was one of the few who replied very fast. She understood all the specifics I needed for my son and started immediately helping him to speak although he was not eager at all. She is always reachable, her french is great and she really know a way how to make people speak French! Recommending!
