Videoconference preparation for the Swiss supplementary examination (ECUS) and first-year mathematics at EPFL.

The ECUS is not a school exam. It's an entrance exam, with a specific syllabus, a set format, and a time constraint that eliminates perfectly competent candidates. Preparation, therefore, doesn't consist of reviewing course material, but of rebuilding a foundation and practicing in the actual exam format.

Master's degree in Operations Research (applied mathematics), more than five years of private tutoring, including mentoring foreign students preparing for their entry into the Swiss system.

What I cover

ECUS — comprehensive mathematics program, practice with sample exams, time management
EPFL's Special Mathematics Course (CMS)
Refresher courses before the first year of university or college: analysis, linear algebra, probability
Refresher courses for candidates who have been out of the school system for several years

Method

An initial assessment is conducted to determine the student's actual level in relation to the exam requirements, followed by a detailed study plan: number of hours needed, priority chapters, and a timeline leading up to the exam date. Each session combines targeted review of theoretical material with practice exercises in the exam format.
